About the community
A HAPPY STONE is a stone that someone paints and then leaves somewhere to make the finder happy. Especially during the coronavirus period, it is lovely to be able to put a smile on someone’s face.
You may keep a stone you find, give it as a gift or leave it in a new place to make someone else happy. The aim is for the stone to keep wandering and bring joy to new finders each time. There are various HAPPY STONES groups on Facebook that show where this craze is active. The back states which Facebook group a stone belongs to. Take a photo and share it in the relevant group; you might then get in touch with the maker of your stone. The four digits on the back are the maker’s postcode.
Are you creative yourself? Come and join in. You can find fun painting ideas in the HAPPY STONES groups on Facebook and on Pinterest.
Supplies:
- stones or rocks;
- water-based acrylic paint or acrylic pens;
- varnish.
Most importantly, put the Facebook logo, the group name #H.S.-Z. and the four digits of your postcode on the back. Look for stones during a walk, paint them and let them wander during your next walk. This also keeps you pleasantly active. Choose a clearly visible place where many people pass by.
You can let the group know the general area in which your stones can be found. Have fun, everyone!
