About the community
A Happy Stone is a stone painted by someone and left somewhere to make the finder happy. Especially during this coronavirus period, it is wonderful to make someone smile.
You may keep the stone, give it as a gift or leave it somewhere again to make the next person happy. The intention is for Happy Stones to “travel” and bring joy to new finders each time. The various Happy Stones groups on Facebook show where they are active. The back states which group the stone belongs to. Photograph it and post the image in that Facebook group; you may then find the maker. The four digits on the back are their postcode.
Creative people are warmly invited to join in. You can find painting ideas in the various Facebook groups and on Pinterest.
You will need:
- stones or rocks (beach pebbles);
- water-based acrylic paint or acrylic pens, plus varnish;
- #happystonesdeLiemers and the Facebook logo on the underside, so the finder can report their discovery on this page.
Look for stones during a lovely walk, paint them and let them wander during your next walk. This also keeps you pleasantly active. Leave them clearly visible in a place where many people pass by. You can indicate on the page the general area where they can be found.
Have fun, everyone!
