About the community
Ilse van Toorenburg created Happy Stones Hoekse Waard after finding several Happy Stones on walks around Hochwald (D). The pleasure of those discoveries inspired her to bring the activity to the Hoekse Waard.
Finders may keep a Happy Stone or release it elsewhere. The group offers practical advice for people wishing to make their own.
Supplies:
- pebbles;
- water-based acrylic paint;
- brushes;
- clear acrylic spray varnish, to help the stones stay beautiful longer.
❗️ To protect nature, the group prohibits attached googly eyes, rhinestones, glitter or other parts that might come loose and remain outdoors. Decoupage, stickers and similar techniques are also excluded ❗️
Stones should carry Happy Stones Hoekse Waard and the Facebook logo on the back ☺️. Photographs with the discovery location are appreciated because they let the maker know the stone has been found ❤️.
The group recommends releasing homemade Happy Stones in visible spots, such as near trees, fences or lampposts along walking paths or school routes.
The founder hopes others will enjoy the activity as much as she does 😃
