About the community
We are a slightly different kind of travelling-rock group. Join the activity that has captivated parents and children around the world while supporting a good cause.
The process is simple: paint a rock and leave it outdoors in a visible location. Members can add a clue to its whereabouts on the group's wall. On the underside, write the group's name, the Facebook or Instagram logo and members’ postcode.
When you find a painted rock, post a photograph here, include the postcode shown on the back and say whether you will keep it or send it farther out into the world. To follow its journey later, enter members’ postcode into this group's search and view the filtered images. This is why it is important always to include the found rock's postcode in the photograph's description.
What makes us different? With us, the story does not end when a rock is discovered; the group aims to multiply the joy of finding it. A painted rock is a joyful event in itself and is a real treasure, especially for children. Let us pass that joy onward.
Whether you keep a rock you find or send it farther is entirely up to you. If you wish to keep it, members can donate any amount to any charitable account and make someone else happy too.
Let us spread goodness while having a wonderful time.
Acrylic paints or acrylic markers coated by spraying or brushing with clear varnish are ideal for painting. Permanent markers may also be used.
