About the community
The group is two friends “addicted to rock painting”. The group has produced heaps of enjoyable, beautiful rocks as well as quite a few mistakes, and we learned from all of them. To share our successes, our love of rock painting and kindness rocks with the world, we provide tutorials on Facebook, at www.rockpaintingworkshops.com and in our home studios.
Our detailed tuition posts let you recreate any of our rocks, while tips and techniques make the painting journey easier. New friends are also invited to contribute step-by-step tutorial posts so everyone can learn from you. Of course, all members may show their latest creations. The group's objective is a happy, safe space for sharing.
You can attend small, social round-table workshops to try different acrylic paint pens and learn ideas and tips about sealants, rocks and more. Fran began her own journey by spending considerable money on unsuitable sealants, paints and rocks; she developed these workshops so others could avoid that trap. Join the relaxed, cuppa-style circles that Reef Rocks administrators Fran and Anne hold in their communities. They will be announced in the group and created as events on the Reef Rocks group page.
Fran founded Reef Rocks Free Workshops and creates in a peaceful tropical location overlooking Whitsundays waters. Her studio is in Bowen, Queensland. Her colourful, fun creations reflect her love of sharing rocks throughout the community, and her ocean-view painting area should not be missed.
Anne joined Fran in the group after 2 weeks. A creative teacher, she began painting rocks in Nepal when canvases were unavailable, making rocks a popular surface for paint and brushes. After returning to Australia and joining the rock movement, she added paint pens. Anne teaches and works in her Eumundi, Queensland studio, has written for many magazines, and loves sharing her artistic knowledge as widely as possible.
