About the community
Group rules
To ensure that we treat one another properly here and remain within the law, the following rules of conduct apply:
- Respect is mandatory for everyone. Different opinions are a good thing, and everyone may and should express their view. The tone must remain humane and respectful—the way each person would want to be addressed. Posts or comments that violate the principles of humane, respectful communication will be removed immediately; the author will receive a private message about it.
- Content unrelated to the hobby. We see ourselves as a community. As in any community, personal interests often differ more widely than shared goals. Anyone who asks an admin in advance and receives permission for an off-topic post also does so out of respect for other groups, associations, organisations and people. In this context, below-the-belt protests merely show that someone is unwilling or unable to adapt and will result in immediate removal from the group.
- Disputes in general. Arguments can happen because we are human, but they have no place in the group. Resolve conflicts privately. If other users complain because a dispute is being conducted publicly at the lowest verbal level, a warning will be issued first, followed by removal if it continues.
- If an admin has to remove a post from the public group because it violates the group rules or our code, the deletion also constitutes a warning not to do so again.
- Images whose creation you were not or are not involved in may not be posted or shared. Such images will be deleted immediately and the author notified by private message; a repeat offence will result in removal from the group.
- Commercial advertising is likewise not permitted. We also find competitions merely disruptive and therefore delete them without comment.
- Not every comment should be taken too seriously. There is no need always to assume the worst: a simple, non-sarcastic question will usually clear things up immediately, without anyone needing to feel personally attacked.
