Hey you—yes, you—YOU ROCK. Rock Stars in Wilmington, NC, and truly everywhere are invited to join this movement.
- Our first goal is to inspire other people.
- Our second is to encourage every person who encounters these painted rocks to pursue happiness and help inspire others through small acts of kindness.
I especially want this movement to reach the world’s “dark and taboo” places, where too many people are afraid to venture. Everyone needs love, inspiration and positive, healing energy.
Sisters on a Mission will play a part by joining forces with Wilmington’s addiction and recovery groups, halfway houses, jail systems, mental-health facilities, homeless shelters and others. My aim is to create inspirational rock gardens—or similar kindness and pay-it-forward projects—in those places, on our area’s most dangerous streets and, of course, throughout every other part of Wilmington. Think of the gardens as Little Free Libraries filled with inspiring painted rocks instead of books. Yay!
Other painted-rock groups already exist in Wilmington, but I believe an area can never have too many. The more movements created in the name of love, the better. I value our neighbouring groups, and their admins share these beliefs. This is no competitive sport: it is a movement in which all of us must work together to raise awareness of positivity’s power—the butterfly effect, if you will.
I would love an administrator in every part of town, neighbourhood and beach to help this mission launch and continue. If you would like to assist with the project, please message me privately.
Browse our photo albums to learn where the Kindness Rocks Gardens are, and please contribute some of your rocks so the gardens keep growing. The “files” tab contains further information, including how to paint rocks, the supplies required, ways to begin your own garden, resources and more.
We want more than rocks: we want thriving, ever-changing rock gardens everywhere! 💖💖💖💖💖🙏💥😅
Please like the page, share it with friends and start painting. Remember to put #AokILM on the back of each creation so you can track your rock. Watching the smiles you cause and the difference you make is genuinely humbling and enlightening.
Rockstars, I will share another update soon. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support. This group belongs to you as much as it does to me, so post and share on our wall, offer your ideas, use your voice and be the change 🙌✌💖
