About the community
Hello and welcome to the long-established PUBLIC trouvemongalet40 group. If you have just arrived and have questions, take the time to read this announcement: the answer is probably here. Otherwise, members of the community or the group’s 3 administrators—Céline Max, Laurence Montes, and Vanessa Noguès—will be happy to help.
The idea
- As an “artist,” you decorate pebbles, create them in Landes, and then hide them wherever your travels take you, in Landes or elsewhere. Write trouvemongalet40 on the back, possibly together with “officiel” and “groupe public,” so that their adventures can be followed. Then post a photo of the hidden pebble and its location.
- As a “seeker-finder,” you may leave the pebble where it is, take it with you, or hide it again according to the “travelling pebble” principle. You can also send us a photo of your find, which will make us very happy. Check carefully that you are posting in the correct group, because several groups exist in Landes, and remember that creators are waiting for news of their work.
- Nothing prevents you from both searching for and creating pebbles to hide.
Everyone naturally remains free to choose.
Respect everyone’s views and do not post off-topic content. The group’s sole aim is to bring pleasure, without judgement, while respecting people and the environment: nature, private property, monuments, and churches. Also avoid hiding pebbles on the ground because of animal urine and the risks associated with mowing equipment.
Materials
Use acrylic paint or acrylic markers. We prefer Posca, Artistro, and the Paint Markers sold at Action, but other brands are available. Then varnish the pebbles; the group recommends using spray-on marine varnish. They will withstand weather and time better, while the paint will deteriorate less in the environment.
The group also asks members not to glue on small plastic eyes: they can come loose and create minor pollution.
Thank you for reading this message, and welcome, everyone!
