Perhaps you have come across a decorated pebble by chance during a walk and are wondering what it represents. This game originally came from the United Kingdom. It aims to spread joy and make the person who finds the pebble happy while also bringing pleasure to the person who drew, decorated, and hid it.
Young and old, whether novice or experienced artists, can take part: awaken the artist inside you.
What to do
Decorate pebbles with paint, felt-tip pens, or acrylic markers, then varnish them to prevent the pictures from wearing away. Above all, do not glue small items onto them: they could come loose, pollute our beautiful natural environment, or be swallowed by animals.
Then hide the pebbles outdoors, in your village, or near busy places so that strangers can find them. Photos can serve as clues. Write the name of our Facebook group on the back to encourage the finder to take a photo, allowing you to receive news.
Your creation may be kept as a treasure or hidden again elsewhere: this is how the artwork travels.
We do not wish to lecture anyone, and everyone remains free to make their own choices. For completeness, however, we must point out that, under Article L.321-8 of the French Environmental Code, collecting pebbles may result in a fine of €1,500.
